In the controller settings, its already being seen as a PS4 controller. Click on the game in your Steam library, then go to "controller configuration" under it. It's probably going to say "Official Configuration" on top of the screen with the button layout. Press square to browse different configs.
With the keyboard special abilities are toggled with the CapsLoc key. To do this the game tip says use L and R. What does this relate to on the controller/. Analog sticks, you have to click them both in to activate your characters ability/do emotes. You don't have to hold them, you click them both in and it will toggle - Click them both again
